EMS Workers Can Now Receive Training at Local Center
St. Louis, Nov 6 -Adair County is a becoming a safer place to live due to a grant from the Missouri Foundation for Health. Adair County Ambulance District (ACAD) has received a $67,994 grant to provide continuing education to emergency medical providers, education for individuals pursuing a career in emergency medicine and to provide education to the public such as Babysitter First Aid, CPR and child safety seat installation.
This will be the first time that the EMS personnel will be able to take the continuing education courses in Adair. Before, they would have to travel to different areas of the state to receive the mandatory education, which was costly and time-consuming.
ACAD will also be able to purchase new medical equipment for the Training Center. They will provide 12 continuing education courses per year for ACAD staff and at least six courses per year to the general public on various First Aid and CPR topics.
Individuals interested in the program may contact Dave Reed at (660) 665-0000.
