Health Care Isn't Free … But Upcoming Health Forum Is
Discussion to be Held in Memphis Regarding Health Care Needs and Resources
St. Louis, Mo., June 10 -The Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH) will hold a public health forum in Memphis on Tuesday, June 29 from 5 - 7:00 p.m. at Scotland County R-1 Junior -Senior High School - Commons Room, RR3 (Lovers Lane) in Memphis.
The purpose of the forum will be to introduce MFH to the community and to receive feedback from attendees on the unmet health care needs in their area. Invitees include individuals and community members from communities in Adair, Clark, Knox, Lewis, Schuyler and Scotland. The local co-sponsor for the forum is the Scotland County Memorial Hospital. Information gathered from the forum will aid the Missouri Foundation for Health in future strategic grantmaking efforts.
Prior to the forum, from 3 - 4:30 p.m., the public is invited to attend a free grantwriting workshop. Information regarding the Foundation's current grantmaking programs, as well as eligibility, tips and deadlines will be provided.
Both events are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.
Established in January of 2000 through the for-profit conversion of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri, MFH is the largest health care foundation in the state and the second largest health conversion foundation in the country. Its vision is to improve the health of the people in the communities it serves. The Foundation is in its third year of grantmaking. Current assets are approximately $1.1 billion.
