Money Doesn't Grow on Trees; but for New Grantees This Fall Has Brought Some New Fruits
More than $6M in Awards Were Allotted This Month
St. Louis, Oct. 7 -The Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH)
awarded grants in range from $8,260 to the Rural Goodman Fire
Protection Association in Pineville, Mo., for new equipment purchases
to more than $1,145,358 to the Phelps County Community Partnership in
Rolla, Mo. for dental care for children.
Established in January of 2000 through the for-profit
conversion of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri, MFH is the largest
health care foundation in the state and the second largest health
conversion foundation in the country. Its vision is to improve the
health of the people in the communities it serves. The Foundation is in
its third year of grantmaking. Current assets are approximately $1.1
