Training – Webinars, Workshops and More

NSC provides a variety of training opportunities during the year and throughout Missouri, including one-day workshops, multi-day seminars and online webinars.  Fees vary by offering.

Webinars:
Enjoy the convenience of learning from your desktop or laptop. All webinars are 11 am-noon. Presenters are through the Alliance for Nonprofit Excellence.  Topics include: governance, nonprofit finance, fund development and nonprofit communications.  Link to 2012 webinars

“Effectiveness In …” Workshops: These one-day and two-day workshops are usually held more than once during the year, and cover various topics: grantwriting, managing volunteers, media interviews, social media, and staff and board management. Link to 2012 workshops

Seminars: These multi-day sessions provide technical coaching and workshops to help nonprofit leaders and senior management guide organizational growth by honing key skills and expanding critical thinking.  These sessions immerse participants in topics such as “Strategic Fund Development,” “ED 101,” and “Nonprofit Management.”  Each seminar is offered over a four-month period. Link to 2012 seminars.

Leadership Development

Nonprofits are better served when their executive directors and senior leadership have focused training and support. This is especially true in communities with limited access to coaching opportunities and peer learning.

Leadership Academy for Executive Directors: A maximum of 12 nonprofit leaders are selected from applications received. Preference is given to health-focused nonprofits. The nine-month program includes periodic retreats, seminars and peer learning circles. Applications for the 2012 class will be available on the NSC website. Link to Leadership Academy

Partnership in Action: Building Strong Leadership Teams: The Executive Director and another top executive leader from a nonprofit participate as a team in a five-month program to learn how to expand “shared leadership.” A maximum of 15 organizations are selected from applications received. Preference is given to health-focused nonprofits. Link to Partnership in Action

Nonprofit Board Presidents Council: Quarterly morning sessions offer nonprofit board presidents and members a way to meet their peers and discuss best practices. Executive directors may be invited to attend with their board member to build stronger leadership teams. Link to Presidents Council
