Cynthia Dean, Portageville
Currently working as the Chief Executive Officer of Missouri Bootheel Regional Consortium, Cynthia Dean has more than 24 years of experience in grant funded programs. She previously served as regional director of cardiovascular health programs for the State of Missouri Department of Health, and she has been the liaison with community based health programs for the Center for Disease Control. Additionally, she worked with the Community Relations Division with the United States Justice Department. Cynthia received regional, state and national honors, served on numerous boards and co-authored several published journal articles. She serves as president of the National Healthy Start Association in Washington, D.C. She served as a member of the Community Advisory Committee from 2003 until joining the board in 2009.
